Ask our Expat Desk: Permanent employee status

On October 15, 2013 by Dutch Umbrella Company

I am working on a fixed term contract.

This is my second temporary contract. When must my employer make my employment permanent?

WePayPeople Expat Desk replies

Employers can issue a maximum of three fixed term contracts to an employee. The total duration of these contracts is three years. This means that an employee’s status become permanent once they receive a fourth contract or have three years’ service, whichever happens first.
